Week 23 & Easter Weekend

As the weather continues to improve, the yard work project continues. Gotta love a man working with heavy machinery.

Last Wednesday we got to go to our 22 week appointment and peek at baby again. He's definitely still a boy-- and fairly proud of it. This was the best picture we could get of him all day.

After our appointment, we got to attend our first Child Birth Class. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I can honestly say that I LOVED it. I know the lady that taught the class, and grew up with her in my Home Ward in Jensen. It put me at ease that I knew and trusted her and to find that the things that I WANT for my Birth Plan are things that they strongly encourage. I have my own opinions about Bottles, Binkies, Epidurals, Pain Killers etc. and I was nervous that I would be busy fighting the nursing staff and doctors to have things the way that I wanted them, so the experience would be stressful and difficult. I am so glad to know that this is not how things are in reality and it has helped me be even more excited for the beautiful moment when we get to welcome our son into the world.

Friday, both Justin and I were off work, so we drove to Colorado where his family was camped and went for a RZR ride out in the hills. My allergies were trying to kill me- if you can't tell from my swollen face and eyes. It didn't help that the wind was blowing, so whatever it was that my sinuses were fighting, got extra stirred up. Other than that, we had a great time. We packed a little picnic and found a little cove of trees that shielded us from the wind to eat and take a little nap. I definitely loved spending time outside and can't wait to do more of it in the coming months!!

Saturday morning was the Easter Egg Hunt that our local radio station hosts each year, so I went and watched my neices race through the crowds and fill their buckets with candy. It's always a great time.

After the Egg hunt at the park, we all went to my Grandma Rosie's house for Lunch and then the kids had another Easter Egg hunt in grandma's yard. It's always so nice to get together with family and visit and eat and enjoy. It seems like that's what every Holiday experience has been since I was young, and it's one of the things I look forward to the most.

23 Week Photo////Easter Sunday

How far along: 23 Weeks

Gender: Boy

Weight gain: 15 lbs.

Maternity clothes: Glad that it's coming to the warmer time of year so I can wear skirts, leggings, and maxi dresses and not freeze to death or look a little psycho.

Stretch marks: No

Belly button in or out: 1/2 in and 1/2 out. It can't make up it's mind- but I honestly prefer that it stay IN as long as possible

Sleep: Sleep has been fairly decent lately- for which I am so grateful. I still wake up tired some days, but I have a feeling it's only going to go downhill from here.

Best moment this week: Seeing baby boy again, Learning so much at our amazing Child Birth Class and enjoying family time for the Easter Weekend.

Miss anything: Being able to go for RZR Rides for hours at a time without getting uncomfortable. Being outside with Justin is one of my favorite things in the world, but all the bumpy trails and ruts are kindof rough on my stretching belly muscles.
Movement: I am loving that baby is getting bigger and stronger, so I can feel so many more of his movements. At first I thought that he was just getting more active- which may be the case- but knowing that he is bigger now helps that I can feel more of his movements that Maybe I couldn't before. It has been fun having Justin lay in bed and feel him kicking before we go to sleep. It has also been fun to have my neices sitting on my lap and lean back and they feel him kick them in the back. They think it's so funny and have nick named him "the wiggle worm"

Cravings: I have to have my Honey Almond Oatmeal for breakfast, but other than that- nothing else really sounds good. It's been nice to feel more "normal" for a while.

Looking forward to: 1.Going to the second half of our Child Birth Class this week. 2. Justin's first softball games of the Season are this Friday night and I can't wait to go watch!! {Hoping for good weather} 3. Making further progress on our yard. It seems to take so long- and yet go so fast when we have the time to work on it- if that makes any sense.
