Week 23 & Easter Weekend

As the weather continues to improve, the yard work project continues. Gotta love a man working with heavy machinery.

Last Wednesday we got to go to our 22 week appointment and peek at baby again. He's definitely still a boy-- and fairly proud of it. This was the best picture we could get of him all day.

After our appointment, we got to attend our first Child Birth Class. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I can honestly say that I LOVED it. I know the lady that taught the class, and grew up with her in my Home Ward in Jensen. It put me at ease that I knew and trusted her and to find that the things that I WANT for my Birth Plan are things that they strongly encourage. I have my own opinions about Bottles, Binkies, Epidurals, Pain Killers etc. and I was nervous that I would be busy fighting the nursing staff and doctors to have things the way that I wanted them, so the experience would be stressful and difficult. I am so glad to know that this is not how things are in reality and it has helped me be even more excited for the beautiful moment when we get to welcome our son into the world.

Friday, both Justin and I were off work, so we drove to Colorado where his family was camped and went for a RZR ride out in the hills. My allergies were trying to kill me- if you can't tell from my swollen face and eyes. It didn't help that the wind was blowing, so whatever it was that my sinuses were fighting, got extra stirred up. Other than that, we had a great time. We packed a little picnic and found a little cove of trees that shielded us from the wind to eat and take a little nap. I definitely loved spending time outside and can't wait to do more of it in the coming months!!

Saturday morning was the Easter Egg Hunt that our local radio station hosts each year, so I went and watched my neices race through the crowds and fill their buckets with candy. It's always a great time.

After the Egg hunt at the park, we all went to my Grandma Rosie's house for Lunch and then the kids had another Easter Egg hunt in grandma's yard. It's always so nice to get together with family and visit and eat and enjoy. It seems like that's what every Holiday experience has been since I was young, and it's one of the things I look forward to the most.

23 Week Photo////Easter Sunday

How far along: 23 Weeks

Gender: Boy

Weight gain: 15 lbs.

Maternity clothes: Glad that it's coming to the warmer time of year so I can wear skirts, leggings, and maxi dresses and not freeze to death or look a little psycho.

Stretch marks: No

Belly button in or out: 1/2 in and 1/2 out. It can't make up it's mind- but I honestly prefer that it stay IN as long as possible

Sleep: Sleep has been fairly decent lately- for which I am so grateful. I still wake up tired some days, but I have a feeling it's only going to go downhill from here.

Best moment this week: Seeing baby boy again, Learning so much at our amazing Child Birth Class and enjoying family time for the Easter Weekend.

Miss anything: Being able to go for RZR Rides for hours at a time without getting uncomfortable. Being outside with Justin is one of my favorite things in the world, but all the bumpy trails and ruts are kindof rough on my stretching belly muscles.
Movement: I am loving that baby is getting bigger and stronger, so I can feel so many more of his movements. At first I thought that he was just getting more active- which may be the case- but knowing that he is bigger now helps that I can feel more of his movements that Maybe I couldn't before. It has been fun having Justin lay in bed and feel him kicking before we go to sleep. It has also been fun to have my neices sitting on my lap and lean back and they feel him kick them in the back. They think it's so funny and have nick named him "the wiggle worm"

Cravings: I have to have my Honey Almond Oatmeal for breakfast, but other than that- nothing else really sounds good. It's been nice to feel more "normal" for a while.

Looking forward to: 1.Going to the second half of our Child Birth Class this week. 2. Justin's first softball games of the Season are this Friday night and I can't wait to go watch!! {Hoping for good weather} 3. Making further progress on our yard. It seems to take so long- and yet go so fast when we have the time to work on it- if that makes any sense.

22 Weeks

How far along: 22 Weeks
Gender: Boy

Weight gain: 14 lbs.

Maternity clothes: I have been improvising a little in the wardrobe department lately and enjoying it! I finally feel like it's okay to "dress the bump" instead of trying to hide it, and I've been picking up a couple pieces of clothing here and there, which is not really like me, so it has been extra fun. I'm so grateful for My Lovely friend Wendy and for Justin when I send them 5 pictures a day "Am I going to look like the fat kid on the playground if I go out into public like this?" etc. etc.  They have yet to lose patience with me and I'm SO grateful :)

Stretch marks: No- And I also found This Pin on pinterest for Vaseline Cocoa Butter Gel Body Oil, so I picked some up at Walmart Saturday and am using it since I wiped out the last of my Favorite Lemon Cream Body Butter last week.

Belly button in or out: In

Sleep: This last weekend was easily a combination of my worst night's sleep in 5 1/2 months, and my best night's sleep in the last 5 1/2 months. I can say that Sugar before bed only amps up the crazy, psycho, heartbreaking dreams that have attended me this pregnancy, and that on the flip-side playing 3 Volleyball games within 4 hours will provide for a good night's rest. Hallelujah!!!

Best moment this week: Since this is the beginning of Week 22, and it has only been a few days since my last post (woops) I can say nothing fantastically amazing has been happening. Still loving baby's little movements. Loving that he is finally "Approx. 1lb and the size of a Spaghetti Sqaush". I've also kindof started to try not to panic about the fact that the weeks are now counting DOWN instead of UP. We have 18 weeks or so left and are in full blown Baby Shower Planning, Maternity Clothes Shopping, Maternity Photo preparing MODE....which are all things I love, so those can be my best moments for now.

Miss anything: Being able to play Softball. It's that time of year at our house, and the softball tournaments are starting to be planned like crazy and I've gone and hit a few times with Justin and I just can't hit as well as I used to be able to. My balance is weird and I hate not being able to participate in the games and things that are coming up. Me and the Little Bambino will be soaking up the Sun on the sidelines, however, and will be the best Cheer Leaders Justin could ask for.

Movement: I did have a moment of panick last week after my afternoon run, I realized I hadn't felt him for a few hours and it was just before dinner time, but I was waiting for Justin before I got food. I tried not to worry, but it didn't work and I finally went on a sugar hunt and ended up chomping down 3 (fun size) Milky Way Candy bars to try and get the little man moving. I hate it when he doesn't move a lot, which has slowed down my exercise program in the near future. I'm not giving up, but I was worrying over it more than it was worth.

Cravings: Nope... Trying to do a 5-Day clean eating challenge with Justin this week, we've got our Menu all planned out, and I'm going to do my best to stick to it.

Queasy or sick: Feeling great. Sore legs from playing 7 volleyball games this last weekend, but it's one of those Good Aches. I'm so glad to feel as well as I have this whole pregnancy. I hope I don't jinx myself for the next one...

Belly Pic///// 22 Weeks

This Wednesday is our next Baby Checkup Appointment, as well as our first Child Birth Class. I am really looking forward to it,and curious about what they want to teach us. I feel the whole process must be fairly simple, since people have been doing this for thousands of years, but hey.... who knows. They might surprise us, lol.
I'll have to take really good notes, and I'm curious to see Justin's reactions to some of the things they may say/show.....

Have a great week!!!

Weeks 20 & 21

20 Weeks

I ordered some of this adorable fabric to start putting together little man 's nursery, and I can't wait for it to get here!

We've been collection a lot of "pinspiration" for ideas on how to landscape our yard- which is our summer project.

The first accomplishment of the "Yard Project"

We got the Shop installed, and it looks great!

Going to order this bad boy in the next month to go in the nursery. Justin is so proud that I'm favoring the "outdoorsy" theme.
Official 20 Weeks Photo
Can't believe we're half way already!!!

The coolest part of the last two weeks was being able to go to General Conference for the first time, in person with Justin, my Parents, grandparents and a couple Aunts and Uncles. It was a wonderful experience!

Love these two. My parents are the greatest.

These socks are the first official article of clothing that I've purchased for baby. I don't know whether to be worried or happy that all I've gotten him to wear so far are socks...

Since we were out of town on the "day" of 21 weeks, we haven't remembered to take a picture, so this is my 21 Week photo. Getting big!!!

How far along: 21 Weeks

Gender: Boy

Weight gain: 15 lbs.

Maternity clothes: Mostly been wearing leggings, skirts, and my once "too big" Business pants to work. I'm really struggling with getting dressed and being comfortable now-a-days, so I've decided a shopping trip may be in order very soon!

Stretch marks: No

Belly button in or out: In

Sleep: Been struggling to sleep well between a stuffy nose and a sore throat. I wake up with a dry mouth a few times per night, and have been trying benadryl to help me sleep lately. It mostly just makes it harder to get out of bed in the mornings.

Best moment this week: Getting back on track with healthier eating and exercising regularly. I've never been a runner, but the last week and a half, I live for my hour at the gym after work and have been running around 4 miles on the elliptical per day. I really want to keep up with my weight and trying to keep the pounds off in the unwanted places has been hard.

Miss anything: My Once in a while "fast meal" of Mozzarella Sticks and a Large Dr. Pepper from Sonic. Those stories haven't been allowed to be written in this pregnancy book and they've been calling my name lately.

Movement: Baby has slowed down his movement a little lately. I don't know if it's because I'm eating less sugary foods, so he's not on a sugar high all the time? or if me exercising more regularly is burning too many calories for him? I'm starting to worry about it though. Don't quite know if I'm overreacting or what...

Cravings: Rice Crispy Treats, Stuffing and Honey Almond Oatmeal. All Carbs. Still.

Queasy or sick: I randomly threw up one day last week, and have had a runny nose and sore throat for the last week, but my energy levels are great, and I have a very hearty appetite which I've had to keep in check.

Looking forward to: Child Birthing Classes start next Wednesday, and we get to play in the Stake Vollleyball tournament this weekend, which I'm so excited for!
