The Big News About Our New Addition...

Since the News is now OUT, I am excited to begin sharing our experiences and excitement about Baby Pratt with the world. Along with these exciting or maybe simple updates, I'm also excited to use this blog to document our lives, events, changes and to continue with my journaling, as it is the best Journaling practice I've ever been able to keep up with.

We broke the BIG News to our families on Friday the 21st, at my Surprise 25th Birthday party. Although Justin had his hands full keeping my surprise a secret and us keeping our surprise a secret, he pulled it off beautifully.

Begin with the Basics: We are 15 Weeks pregnant with our First Child. Due August 17th, 2014. We both absolutely agree that we don't care what the gender is, we just want a healthy happy baby. We've been to two doctors appoinments already to see our little one and everything has been Right On Track, for which we are so grateful.

I want to track our experiences and the facts about this pregnancy in a weekly fashion, so I'm going to break it down into a few simple categories:

How far along: 15 Weeks

Gender: Unknown (Until March 20th at our next appoinment-- Hopefully!!)

Weight gain: 8lbs (....I'm guessing since the scale is still packed away somewhere in the garage...)

Maternity clothes: I still fit into 90% of my regular clothing quite comfortably... although I have started to buy a few shirts in anticipation of the upcoming challenges.

Stretch marks: No

Belly button in or out: In

Sleep: Although it was rough in the first few months, I have been sleeping much better lately- with the exception of the 10am and 1pm battle I have daily to stay awake at my desk!!

Best moment this week: Sharing our exciting news with the people we love, as well as our friends and co-workers. I didn't anticipate the happy reactions we've received, which makes me feel a little lesss anxious about the whole situation.

Miss anything: Not being too afraid to push myself to get a good workout and feeling attractive at any rate or time of day has gone completely out the window.

Movement: Starting to be able to distinguish little flutters...nothing very strong or pronounced yet, but I'm certain it won't be long now.

Cravings: After my bout the first few weeks with craving Cheeseburgers, then Raspberry Yogurt and finally Peanut Butter, my appetite has been fairly normal- with a slight aversion to meats. Hamburger and Chicken have become the Meat Staples of my Meals.

Queasy or sick: I feel blessed to have not had to deal with too much sick or queasyness... aside from the extra pressure I feel after I eat, I feel great!

Looking forward to: Finishing unpacking and getting settled into the new house so I can begin shopping for baby supplies and of course-- Counting down the days until we find out the Gender...23 days to go as of today...
