19 Weeks

Over the last weekend, Justin and I got to take a quick Trip to Grand Junction, CO for a Softball tournament. It's always fun to have these little getaways together. Plus I have to take advantage of every opportunity while I can, because I have a feeling once little one is born, it won't be quite as easy to just jump and run away for a couple days.

Dinner at Texas Roadhouse

Don't mind that he blinked and I didn't realize it so this was the only picture I took. Besides the Crappy cold windy rainy weather, it was a great time. They took 4th overall.

Then we got the perfect start to our Sunday morning before church with Justin's yummy Crepes and this Yummy Home Made Strawberry sauce. Which you can find the recipe for here.

Last, but not least, we are into our 19th week!!!
That means that Baby is about 8 1/2 oz (or the size of an Heirloom Tomatoe, our baby tracker says)

How far along: 19 Weeks

Gender: Boy!!!

Weight gain: 9 lbs.

Maternity clothes: As shown above, I am wearing this t-shirt from Motherhood Maternity, and I am still squishing into my regular ole black skinny pants. Getting dressed is still a daily battle, that I hope to one day master.

Stretch marks: Nope- still trying my best to keep hydrated to prevent any!

Belly button in or out: In

Sleep: Sleep is mediocre at best. Weird Dreams still keep my mind running all night, and my ability to sleep through any sound on a scale of 1-10 is a 0. Everything wakes me up. And it makes me ornery, lol.

Best moment this week: Justin and I both keep looking at eachother and going "We're going to have a baby boy". It feels amazing to have this wonderful knowledge, and we're still so excited.

Miss anything: Still Missing Soda. I really want one right now in fact. Dang Bad habits.
Movement: I'm definitely growing a wiggle worm in there. I'm so grateful to be able to feel his movements though, it's a huge reassurance that he's okay! He got a little uncomfortable on the car ride over the mountain last weekend and was kicking up a storm. I told Justin he better slow down cause his son was pissed.
Cravings: Mmm...I have had a complete loss of appetite lately. I only eat because I have to. And when I get bored. Or if someone says I can have a soda... Food is gross this week.

Queasy or sick: I'm learning to be patient through the shortness of breath and how it's getting more difficult to bend over, and I get dizzy when I stand for long periods of time. But other than that, I'm a happy camper.
Looking forward to: Seeing Baby again during Another Ultrasound this Wednesday to measure all of his body parts and see how he's growing.
Here to being almost half way!!!

BOY OH BOY-- It's a Beautiful Day

I am so relieved to say that the day we have been waiting for since the day we found out we were pregnant, was today. THE Gender ultrasound revealed that - My Motherly Instincts were Right and our First Child is a Boy!

The Ultrasound Proof (Sorry for showing the whole world Son, but I promise I'll never do it again)

There are not a lot of words that can express how I feel, and yet there are so many at the same time. I am in absolute Awe of the wonderful plan of creation and of the beautiful blessings we have and enjoy, and that what I've waited for my whole life- to be a mother- is here. I am loving every minute of it. It feels natural and very real. Not one bit scary or nerve wracking. It's like I have trained for this my whole life and it's finally here and I'm soaking up every minute. There are so many things and people in the world around us that would love to steal these simple joys, but I am so glad to say that It hasn't and it won't work. He's too precious to take for granted.

I am so excited for Justin to have a son. To have a little boy to kick around in the dirt with, and to take hunting and fishing and all the things that Dad's and Son's do. Justin has always been amazing with kids and I've always looked forward to watching him with our own, but the closer it gets and the fact that it's a boy, just seems to be the Cherry on top.

Oh... And Carter's is having a 50% off Everything Sale today Online. It's Fate.

At least that's the excuse I'm going to give Justin when he sees the bill later...

18 Weeks

How far along: 18 Weeks +1 Day
Gender: Will be made known at our appointment this Thursday. (I seriously can't wait)

Weight gain: 7lbs and holding...

Maternity clothes: While in St.George I caved and bought A COUPLE Maternity Shirts, and have to say that I absolutely love them. Aside from them, long tunics and leggings have been my saving grace when trying to get dressed in the mornings.

Stretch marks: No- using an extra lot of Lemon Butter Body Cream at this point to try and prevent any showing up.

Belly button in or out: In

Sleep: Sleep is an uphill battle for me. However, with the other pains and aches I've avoided thus far, I feel fortunate that this has been my biggest challenge thus far. Bring on the Crazy Dreams, Smaller than typical capacity Bladder and Hip Aches.

Best moment this week: Laying in bed Saturday night, Justin felt the baby kick for the first time. It was sweet :)

Miss anything: After having a slight relapse of my Dr. Pepper drinking habit, I have once again cut it off and been 9 days Soda Free. It's awesome and it sucks at the same time. Oh- and being able to eat a meal and not feel like it all went into my lungs instead of my stomach. It's insane how much I can't breathe.

Movement: Got my first Solid "Yep, that's kicking" moments last Tuesday, the 11th, amidst eating a bowl of Grapes (which were so good, I ended up eating all 4 cups of them) and have had several kicking moments a day since then.

Cravings: Rice Crispy Treats and Apple Crisp. Although We have been trying to eat healthier, and took advantage of being near a Costco in St.George, so we stocked up on Fresh Fruit and have been chowing it down with much happiness.

Queasy or sick: Had a couple dizzy spells lately and some growing pains in my ab muscles. I think the dizzy has to do with me forgetting to eat and letting my sugar get too low (woops) Gonna have to pay more attention to that now I guess.

Looking forward to: T-3 Days until we get to see our little Love again and hopefully See the Gender. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time.
Hope you have all have such a great week!!!

Our Crazy Hectic Beautiful Life

Prepare for a picture overload. I couldn't help but try and take pictures of all our fun shenanigans lately, so I could share them with You!!

Our Weekend in St. George was such a wonderful get away, we shopped, and napped, and played tennis, got good food and had the best company in Each other. I loved every minute of it.

This was the beautiful Weather we started driving in Thursday night, before it turned into a complete white out blizzard, so we ended up staying the night in Provo and heading the rest of the way South Friday morning.

We did some shopping for the Rocker/Recliner for the baby's nursery, and I believe we found the lucky winner! Now to just get it ordered :)

Justin was such a trooper, he had hurt his back Thursday during the day, so while I walked around Bed, Bath  & Beyond, he tested out their massage chairs. Nothing beats a free massage.

I also talked him into accompanying me to the Mall, in exchange for many visits to "Manly Stores"
We're cool and compromise like that :)

Justin also took me out for an awesome dinner at the Anasazi Steakhouse, which is a combination of The Melting Pot (with Fondue) and The Hideout (Where you cook your choice of meat on a super hot Rock)
Besides being extra smokey, it was really good :)
However, we both agreed that the best thing about this meal were their Raspberry Cream Italian Sodas....
I'm drooling again just thinking about it. YUM!

Of Course while we were there I had to take a Baby-Selfie so this is me at 17 weeks and Loving the Sunshine!

While we were gone, we thought it would be the perfect time to have our Backsplash installed. We bought everything to do it before we moved in, and one thing lead to another and it got pushed to the backburner. We were so happy with how it turned out! It made the kitchen feel so much more Classy and Put Together. I'm in aboslute love with it.

{Choice of the Stainelss Steel has to be credited to Justin. He talked me into it and I was afraid= He was right}

The other Amazing and not so amazing things we came home to:

Baby's Dresser and Crib were delivered. My wonderful FIL assembled the Crib for us, and I am so happy with our choice.
However, I am not so happy about the dresser :| it was extremely damaged in shipping and is going to have to be sent back and hopefully replaced, if not refunded.
I really don't want to deal with this, but I have no choice, so I'm trying to stay upbeat about it.
Ugh.

On other notes: I decided to open my magic Mary Poppins Bag of good housewife tricks and packed Justin some rockin salads in a jar for lunch this week. He said they were great, which made me proud.
If you want the recipe you can find it here. But there are hundreds upon hundreds of other recipes to be found on Pinterest for these.

My Aunt Jada and Uncle Rafe also welcomed their Beautiful New Addition Finlee Noelle to their family a month earlier than expected while we were in St. George. She was a whopping 4lbs 8oz and had the most adorable head of soft baby hair. I got to go visit them and snuggle up some of her goodness last week. It was wonderful.

We're also
(remember the picture overload I warned you about... Do you believe me now?)
getting to what feels like the last Quarter of our unpacking/organizing/decorating/decluttering into the new house and are so glad it's starting to feel like home. We had our first Party last night with my family as an Early St. Patty's Day celebration and it felt good to fill our home with our family whom we love dearly.

These little kiddo's know how to add a smile to any crowd. Our party was complete with Corned Beef and Cabbage Soup, Green Peas, Green Rolls, Home Made Root Beer and Hot Fudge Sundaes.
Not to mention to Bubbles, Crabwalking, Tremendous Block Castles and  Story Books.

March is here and so is our "16 Week" Mark

So I am playing a little catch up, but I am finally brave enough to post one of my Weekly Pictures.

This is 14 weeks.

This last week, I was also very excited to order our CRIB and matching DRESSER...

Although it took A LOT of shopping and patience and nerve-wracking-ness for us to decide which set to get, I'm very pleased with what we finally decided on. We chose to pass on the tall Dressers and the Changing Tables and went with a waist height dresser crib combo. I had to order each piece from two different stores, because- can you believe it- none of the stores I shopped online carried our set in a matching brand/color.
I'm hoping that when the pieces start arriving this week that we will be confident that we made the right decisions and get busy assembling the beautiful things.

When I've told family/friends about ordering them, I've gotten quite a few "already's"?? but I felt that this was a decision we wanted to make before we were gender-swayed. We intend to ekep the same crib through more than one child and I wanted to make sure we made this decision without a "girl" or "boy" specifically in mind.

So YES... We ALREADY Ordered our Crib and Dresser set and I am ecstatic about it!!

Last week was also my birthday, and my awesome hubby took me out to dinner Friday night at a new little place we had never tried before. It was called The Hideout in Myton, UT. They were pretty high tech for us Vernal-folk- and they had Justin cook his own steak on a very hot rock. It was actually pretty neat, and we both enjoyed it.
I was also happy to enjoy a yummy Chicken Fried Steak. This was the first piece of meat, besides hamburger and chicken, that I've been able to look in the face since I became pregnant. It's funny what these hormones and cravings can do to our appetites.

My beautiful Mother's Birthday is just 4 days after mine, so we got to have two Birthday celebrations in one Week.
It's always such a joy to be able to celebrate the lives of the people we love. I have the most amazing Mother!! She is such a strong, faithful and supportive role model to me in my life. She is knowledgable and patient, and I will never be able to fully repay her for all of the things that she has done for me!!

And... The latest and Greatest Maternity Pic:

16 Weeks.

How far along: 16 Weeks/ 4 months
Gender: Unknown for 17 more days
Weight gain: 5 lbs.. Actually lost a few pounds in the last week.. Go figure.
Maternity clothes: I am still quite proud to be squishing into my size 1 skinny jeans... They are actually quite comfortable. However-- The picture above is the first "maternity" shirt I ever purchased in some pre-pregnancy contemplation, and now I am very glad I did. While my regular clothes still fit, I'm still struggling with the "you look fat, not pregnant" issue, so I'm still hiding in hoodies, jackets and over-sized anything shirts. Hopefully we will converge soon.
Stretch marks: No
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: Sleep has been rough the last week. The crazy dreams just don't quite do it for me and a night of restful sleep.
Best moment this week: Laying in my bed Saturday morning, just after waking up and feeling baby slosh around a little bit as I rolled over to look out the window. I took a video and sent it to Justin to show him right where the baby was laying. It's becoming much more noticable, and baby tends to "rise to the surface" when I am laying on my back, and can be easily identified. Pretty sweet.
Miss anything: Missing some energy a little bit. I'm too young to feel winded after walking up a flight of stairs first thing in the morning.
Movement: Tiny blurbs and sloshes- mostly when laying on my back (late at night or early in the morning)
Cravings: Sonic Mozzarella Sticks and Dr. Pepper

Queasy or sick: Been nauseous and dizzy a couple times the last few mornings, but typically subsides once I eat something substantial and just sit for 10-15 minutes.

Looking forward to: Heading to This beautiful place for the weekend. Justin and I are going to take a little get-away this weekend down to St. George and see if we can't find some sunshine and good food. We want to go to Zions National Park one of the days and go for a nice nature hike and get some of that Utah Air in our lungs. (And....finding out baby's gender in 17 days!!)
